| We are a small but vocal group of community
members who do not wish to see the MacLeod-Rice House be allowed to crumble.
We are neighbors who grew up near the house, recent residents to the area,
commuters who drive past everyday, visitors who come to the grounds during
Middletown Day, kids who participate in the sports held there, their cheering
parents, seniors who spend their days at the senior center behind the house,
alumni of Croydon Hall Academy who remember their school days there, people
who appreciate grand architecture, and anyone who will not stand by and allow
another piece of local history to be torn down for the sake of "more
parking"! |

| The Red Mill Museum and Mulligan Quarry are the
setting for over 200 years of history.
Within the walls of a dozen historic buildings, contained in the wood
and cloth of 40,000 historic objects are the stories of the growth of a
community. How did the first European
settlers harness the river, tame the wilderness, improve the land, encourage
commerce, build a village and create the Town of Clinton? The museum offers changing exhibits,
lectures, concerts and special events that provide visitors with an ongoing
conversation with the past. The museum
welcomes visitors during its open season, April to October, Tuesday through
Sunday. |

| The Strauss Mansion is a 21-room house built in
1893 for use as a “summer cottage” by Adolph Strauss, a wealthy New York
importer and merchant. Designed in Queen Anne style, the house is almost on
top of the highest elevation in the Victorian town. From high floors, there
are wide views over the town and the hills beyond, to the bay below and along
the shoreline stretching to the west, and out to Sandy Hook Bay and the New
York skyline. The eccentric roof line has peaks, dormers and gables and a
variety of shapes and textures. Its two front towers, unique in town, are
circular on one corner and six-sided on the other corner; in fact, the house
originally was called "The Towers." A two-story porch wraps around
three sides of the house. |

The museum
welcomes visitors during its open season, April to October, Tuesday through
Sunday. |

| The Friends of the Abraham Staats House, Inc.
was established in 1999 and incorporated in 2004 to support the ongoing
restoration, preservation and interpretation of the historic Abraham Staats
House. The Abraham Staats House was
built c. 1740 near the banks of the Raritan River. The property is associated with significant
people and events during the American Revolution. It is also associated with
the growth of the community in the early 19th century, when the Delaware
& Raritan Canal was constructed between the house and the river. The
house remained a private home until it was acquired by the Borough in 1999.
It was placed on the New Jersey and National Registers in 2002. |

| The Flemington Neshanock Base Ball Club plays by
19th Century rules, uses authentic replicas of 19th Century equipment and
wears 19th Century uniforms. As was
the custom in the middle 19th Century, all fielders play barehanded and do
not wear gloves. We are a not for profit organization that looks to inform
the general public on the roots of our National Pastime. We are sort of like the Civil War
re-enactors, except we use a bat and ball instead of a gun. |
